Describe your personality

I am a very bubbly, creative and playful person I love meeting new people and making new friends but I also have a serious side to me. I consider myself somebody who is very hardworking and always pushing herself to be the best she can be. I am very independent and never need somebody to think for me because I can confidently make my own decisions. I love walking in my own path even if it’s the less popular route. I am very intelligent and love learning and challenging myself.

What are your goals in life?

My goal in life is to be happy. Happiness for me is being able to live life on my own terms and achieve the goals that I set for myself. I also want to make a positive impact in the world. Two things that I am passionate about is fashion and philanthropy .I love the creative aspect of fashion and I am very interested in different aspects of the fashion industry including styling, designing, modelling and photography. I would love to be able to contribute to our culture in terms of style. Modelling is something that I have been passionate about since I was 14 years old. Not only does it allow me to be able to travel and meet new and interesting people but it also allows me to impact societal perceptions of beauty. For many years, the media has pushed as certain notion of beauty and those that do not fit this notion often feel like outliers. Succeeding in the modelling industry will give me to voice to challenge societal notions of beauty and help uplift those who have ever felt like outliers. I consider my mum the most generous and philanthropic individual that I’ve ever met. She’s always showing compassion to everybody and is always opening her arms and helping those in need. She is somebody that I look up to and somebody that inspires me to advocate. I very passionate about advocacy particularly in the areas of education, poverty reduction, sustainable development and women’s rights. My life long goal is to create a positive change.

Previous modelling experience

I’ve been modelling for almost 4 years now however, I’ve been mostly doing it part time due to studying full time at University. Throughout these 4 years I have surprised myself at what I have been able to achieve due to my hard work, determination and persistence. I’ve been fortunate to have worked with incredible photographers such as Charlie Octavia and Carlo’s Fernandes. My biggest accomplishment in modelling so far has been working with the cosmetics brand Lancôme and being featured in Vogue Australia (August 2017). Being featured in Vogue has always been a dream of mine so being able to achieve this helped me prove to myself that nothing is impossible and it pushed me to start looking at my “dreams” as goals and striving to achieve these goals. I’ve also been featured in the online edition of Big INK magazine (2017) and the National Geographic photo competition (2018). In April this year I competed in my first ever beauty pageant. The pageant “Miss Sahara Australia” is a national beauty pageant celebrating the diversity of African women in Australia and fostering the leadership skills of these young women. Although I did not take home the title, it was one of the best experiences of my life because it introduced myself to me. The pageant revealed areas of myself that I was insecure about and also areas that I excelled in. It helped me become more confident but also give me areas in which I can improve on. The pageant helped me to inspire others to achieve their dreams and also gave me something invaluable- 9 life-long sisters.
